Networking with Duke Alumni was never easier. Start with this orientation video and navigate the Duke Alumni Network now!
Sign in to access the Duke alumni network – you can filter the 170,000+ alumni based on Duke degree, current industry, location and more, and message them with a click of a button. Find a Blue Devil who can help you take your next step – at Duke and beyond.
Students do not need to create a profile on the network. You can access the network with your NetID and password.
You can email as many alumni as you want on the network. Note that you are limited to messaging each alumnus once a week, for up to three messages.
As of now, there is no formal handbook on how students should connect with Duke alumni. The training video and the alumni.duke.edu/students page provide you with helpful tips on how to find alumni and create your first message.
Yes! Once you graduate, you can access the network as an alumnus. You will be able to upload a photo and update information on your profile (student activities, professional activities, residence halls, etc.).
DKU students will have access to your NetID and password for up to a year after you graduate (unless you return to Duke/DKU as a student in another program or as a student/faculty/staff member). Before you lose access to your Duke email, we ask that DKU students create a OneLink account (https://accounts.oit.duke.edu/onelink/about) for continued access to Duke online systems after graduation.
You will have the opportunity to share your information when filling out the contact form after you click the green “Contact” button on an alumnus’ profile. You can share your interests and a brief educational background through your initial message. Once the alumnus replies to your message through email, you can send attachments through continued email correspondence.
While DKU students have the DKU Career Center for career advising, you are welcome to use the online resources created by the Duke Career Center. The following guides should be helpful when connecting with alumni:
